In addition to visual arts, Hazel Park Art Fair attendees will have the opportunity to experience live art through performances, exhibits and demonstrations. Thank you to our sponsors for making these performances possible!
LIVE POTTERY DEMONSTRATIONS
Throughout the fair, the Clawson Clay Guild will be conducting live demonstrations on the wheel and in the sculpting process, and audience members will be able to test their skills with clay as well. Clawson Clay Guild potters will compete to win the Clazel Park” Pottery Showdown! The winners will be recognized individually, and the overall winner will preside as the as the “Clazel Park Pottery Showdown Champion” until next year, possessing all bragging rights and privileges. You don’t want to miss this exciting ceramic competition!
AERIAL PERFORMANCES
Based out of Madison Heights, Shadow’s Circus + D3 Circus Troupe is back to provide stunning aerial acts throughout the entire art fair weekend! The performers specialize in a wide range of stunning acts, including aerial, lyra, silks, fire performing, led props, ground & standing acro, stilts, characters and more. These talented performers are a HPAF staple, and never cease to amaze attendees.
TRAVELING WISHING TREE EXHIBIT
The Wishing Tree is an interactive modern art exhibit that travels to major Hazel Park events. To participate, simply write your wish on a ribbon and tie it to the Wishing Tree. While you’re there, you can see what others in your community are wishing for. You can even come back next year to try and find your wish!
People of all ages are encouraged to take part in this exhibit. The Hazel Park Arts Council intends for this exhibit to evolve every year, reflecting the wishes of the growing Hazel Park community on an annual basis.
